4 Tips for Journaling

 

When it comes to living my life, I have found it is so important to find out what stories I am telling myself about the world around me. And to do that, I use journaling, deep breathing and conversations with friends to pay attention. 

These days, it seems like we are all becoming more aware of how important it is to take time to connect with ourselves (and others). While social media has it's benefits, it is certainly dropping the ball when it comes to helping us feel connected. 

So, there is a shift- we are again turning analog.

 

Tips for writing in your journal in the morning (before you even look at your cell phone!)

  1. Write 3 things that you are grateful for
  2. Do a “feeling check in." Write 3 things you are feeling
  3. Ask “How do I want to feel by the end of the day?” Follow up by giving one action that you can do that will create that feeling
  4. Ramble. Ramble on and on and on. It's all good.
